  • Do Altasec NVR/DVR support main stream/sub stream?

    Answer:
    The main stream and sub stream will be provided by Altasec embedded NVR and DVR series. The main stream is to record with higher resolution and full frame rate in for main monitoring and recording. The sub stream is used for mobile monitoring and low-bandwidth network environment. All Altasec NVRs and DVRs support both streams for different purpose and network environment.

  • Do Altasec NVR/DVR support App push notifications?

    Answer:
    VS Viewer Pro II surveillance App is designed to work with DVR and NVR series. When system exceptions occur, video loss, motion, or alarm is triggered, you will get the immediate notification from Apps. You can add your devices into the list so you can monitor the videos anywhere.

  • How to configure urDDNS?

    Answer:
    Altasec provides free DDNS for both NVR and DVR series.
    The built-in DDNS allows you to enter urDDNS settings.

    Prerequistes of urDDNS:
    1. Enable Network-LAN setting. Ensure the LAN networking setting is properly configured and system is able to connect to internet. Please refer to 8.2.1.1 LAN settings.
    2. Select On to enable urDDNS.
    3. Input Built-in DDNS domain name.
    4. Click Apply to save the settings.
    5. If urDDNS is applied successfully, it will pop up Success message. If urDDNS account is not registered successfully, it will pop up Failed message. Once it pops up Failed message, you need to check network setting to ensure AHD/TVI DVR to internet without problem. Or you probably use the same domain name as others’ so please use another domain name to register urDDNS account to ensure the registration successfully.

  • Do Altasec provide CMS(Central Management Software) for NVR and DVR?

    Answer: Altasec provides free CMS Pro for you to manage multiple devices including NVR and DVR series. Please download CMS Pro from Altasec website.

  • What is the maximum distance of PoE cable of Altasec embedded NVRs?

    Answer:
    The maximum distance between 2 PoE devices is 100m by using CAT5e cable.

  • Why is the NVR or DVR unable to find HDD?

    Answer:
    1.Please install the HDD properly. Please refer to the QIG or user manual for the detailed steps.
    2.
    Please use the surveillance HDDs such as Seagate, Toshiba and WD.

  • Why can’t I receive the gmail from Altasec NVR or DVR?

    Answer:
    Your Gmail account cannot get the e-mail from NVR or DVR because Google uses SMTP server using SSL and TLS data encryption and authentication. Please go to
    https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps to lower the security level.

    In addition, Google may require you to complete the additional steps to allow NVR or DVR to send the e-mail to your account. Please complete the process in
    https://accounts.google.com/DisplayUnlockCaptcha. The below examples are how to set up the configuration in NVR or DVR.

    A. Use Gmail with SSL (port465)

  • Why is NVR or DVR beeping?

    In the Alarm-Exception sub menu, you can select each exception to disable buzzer. Or you need to unselect the buzzer in Camera-Video Loss Handle or Camera-Motion Handle sub menu. If the buzzer stops beeping, then the current selected exception or event is the cause of the beeping.

    The system exceptions are including Disk full, Disk error, No disk, Network disconnect, Illegal Login, Disk over temperature, Fan failed, Power loss and IP conflict. When buzzer select on and system exceptions occurs, the buzzer will start beeping.
